Nadine Artemis, author of Holistic Dental Care: The Complete Guide to Healthy Teeth and Gums provides an overview of her work and her product lines.
Artemis is a woman of many talents—beauty philosopher, aromacologist, and botanical enthusiast. She is an author and the creator of a company called Living Libations that produces a complete line of serums, elixirs, and essential oils for people who desire some of the best botanical health and beauty products on the market.
Artemis talks about her motivation for writing the book, Holistic Dental Care: The Complete Guide to Healthy Teeth and Gums. Artemis recounts how she discovered that there was a dearth of information available regarding holistic oral care, and as our oral health is connected to the health of our overall bodies, she decided to write the book and provide much-needed information on the topic for those who are interested in holistic health. She discusses in detail topics such as lymphatic fluids, spikes in blood sugar, a lack of minerals in the diet, stressful hormonal times, poor diet, and so forth—issues that all affect our oral health, the strength of teeth, etc.
Artemis talks about saliva and its great importance for lubrication and taking care of the microbiome, and she talks about the important process of bringing nutrients to the teeth. Her book covers many topics; it’s essentially a how-to guide for natural oral care. Artemis covers self-care strategies, and how we can all take precautionary measures to prevent negative issues from taking root, thus restoring optimum dental health. Her take on it is that oral care should be a whole-body type approach.
Artemis discusses the importance of botanical extracts. As she explains, select plant extracts can prevent pathogens. And the goal is to create an internal system in which friendly bacteria keep the pathogens in check. She talks about how extracts can be utilized to improve oral health, seal gums, or be used as swishers (in place of commercial mouthwash), etc. Artemis states that many people who utilize these extracts and techniques are having cheaper, shorter dental visits, which is certainly a great thing for oral care and wellness.
